I am logged into Mosaic and I cannot upload or attach files in Blackboard Vista, what should I do?

There are multiple versions of Java installed on Mosaic computers. If Shockwave runs in the browser, it initializes the latest version of Java installed. All other web-based programs that need Java in order to run then use that initialized version as well. The configuration of the Mosaic system does not enable users to install/uninstall software. However, students can disable add-ons such as Shockwave that may be causing the latest version of Java to run. Do the following in Internet Explorer 7.0:

  1. From the Tools menu select Internet Options.
  2. Click the Programs tab.
  3. Click Manage add-ons.
  4. Scroll through the list of add-ons and click Shockwave.
  5. In the “Settings” area, click Disable.
  6. Click OK to close the Manage Add-ons dialog box.
  7. Click OK to close the Internet Options dialog box.
NOTE: If you are still unable to add files or attachments have them log out of computer and log back in.
