Moodle offers a backup and restore feature that allows instructors to create course backups at anytime during the semester. Course backups can be restored into the course in the case that a course becomes corrupted. The backup and restore processes can be used in a variety of other ways as well such as duplicating courses or specific activities in one course to another course.
The Chat activity enables students and faculty to have a real-time synchronous discussion in a course. This is a useful way to get a different understanding of each other and the topic being discussed – the mode of using a chat room is quite different from the asynchronous forums. read more »

You can create quiz questions within Moodle. Questions are created from the Question bank screen. You will also be able to categorize questions and add them to the quiz body. read more »

The ability to export your clicker Gradebook to Microsoft Excel offers you great flexibility. You can export grades just to maintain a backup offline or use Excel to import your clicker grades into Moodle. read more »
The ability to export your Grade Book to Microsoft Excel offers you great flexibility. You can export grades just to maintain a backup offline or to use Excel to manage all your grading. Once the Grade Book is saved and opened in Excel, you can make modifications, re-save the file and upload it back into Moodle.
Moodle Forums are one of the primary communication tools in a Moodle course. These threaded discussion boards allow you and your students to post and reply to messages at any time. Forums are an excellent tool to encourage faculty to student interaction and student to student interaction. read more »
Glossary assignment allows users to make a list of definitions of key vocabulary or concepts collaboratively or individually. read more »
Moodle automatically grades all question types except for Essay questions. You will need to manually grade a quiz if you used Essay questions, if you need to override a question score or if you want to add bonus points to a student’s overall score. read more »
The ability to import grades from a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet into Moodle offers you great flexibility for managing your grades offline. Once you have updated the Excel spreadsheet and saved it as a .csv file, you can import it into your online Grade Book. read more »
