The Quality Matters (QM) Course Development program is a cohort-based, 12 week-long, funded course development program that supports Distance Education faculty members in developing quality online/blended courses. CTL’s instructional designers work collaboratively with faculty to plan and design courses incorporated with QM’s best practices of course design, such as measurable objectives, instructional alignment, active learning for diverse learners, and accessible and usable materials. The program also includes the components of Canvas course development, micro-lecture video production, and QM Pre-Check. At the end of the project, the faculty will be able to submit the Canvas course for an internal QM review. If a participating faculty member has limited experience with online teaching, the program will include extended training on online pedagogy and learning technology. This extended program is called as QM Course Development and Online Teaching.
